Ruben Gingerich was born on September 11th in Kirksville, Missouri. He was diagnosed with pneumonia as a result of swallowing fluid during birth, which necessitated the insertion of a breathing tube. Once stable, he was transported to Blank Children's Hospital by Life Flight.
The Gingrich Family stayed at the Ronald McDonald House for 19 nights. Ruben's older brothers' favorite things about the House were the toys in the playrooms, painting kindness rocks, our volunteers talking with them about firetrucks, and the snacks.
"The Ronald McDonald House provided a safe and fun place to stay with our older children. The lodging and wonderful meals helped us financially during this unexpected hospital stay. Words cannot express how grateful we are for the Ronald McDonald House, staff, and volunteers."
