The Peterson Family

Tyler & Alison Peterson, from Boone, IA, stayed at our MercyOne house for 46 nights. Pregnant at 31 weeks, Alison was scheduled for an ultrasound at Mercy to figure out why her baby wasn't growing the way she needed to. After discovering that there were dips in the baby's heart rate, the doctors decided to deliver her early by C-Section.

Lenora Luella Kay was born on September 7th weighing just 2 lbs. 1 oz. After spending time in the NICU, she was able to go home with her parents on October 26th weighing 5 lbs. 1 oz!

 

Mom, Alison said, "I would always tell the nurses I don't know how I'd be able to do this without the RMH. It allowed me to stay with my daughter everyday. Being able to eat provided meals was such a blessing financially to us. All the people and NICU moms were so supportive and helpful. The staff was incredible at making us feel welcome and comfortable."
