RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE TO HOST 7TH ANNUAL PEDAL
The summer may be winding down but it is not time to say goodbye to those summer festivities just yet! On Aug. 18, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa will be hosting their 7th annual “Pedal for the House” cycling event!
This year’s Pedal is Hawaiian themed and therefore all leis, grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts are welcomed and encouraged for participants. The event will kick-off with registration at 4 p.m. The ride will then begin at 5 p.m. starting out at Captain Roy’s and continuing on to Mullet’s, followed by a stop at Confluence. An optional leg of the trail will wrap around Gray’s Lake Park. All cyclists are then invited to return to Captain Roy’s where the after party will be held.
As in years prior, tickets may be purchased through online pre-registration with single tickets being sold for $35 and couples tickets for only $60. Additionally, there are several varying levels of sponsorships available for those interested.
The first 300 to register will receive a RMH logo Moscow Mule mug as yours to keep! With a brand new trail, hot new raffle items and new activities, including a dunk tank, the 7th annual pedal is shaping up to be the best one yet!
Bakeris Roofing is presenting this event and all funds raised will go to helping support the House and the families that it serves. The Ronald McDonald House provides a supportive home environment for families with sick children receiving medical treatment. When staying at the Ronald McDonald House, it is completely free of cost for the families in an effort to help remove some of the burden during difficult times; therefore, the House continues to run solely thanks to generous donations and fundraising events such as this.
