Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa
Many families must travel far from home and spend several weeks or months in getting specialized treatment for their seriously ill or injured child. For these children, nothing is scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House is a place for families to stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.
The Houses provide families a place to interact and face the uncertainty of their child’s illness together. The proximity of the Houses to the medical facility allows parents to better communicate with their child’s medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans when needed.
